The ministry of environmental protection has implemented new environmental protection standard
On 1st February, the ministry of environmental protection officially ordered the technical requirements for furniture (HJ 2547-2016) to be implemented, and the technical requirements for the environmental logo products (HJ/T 303-2006) were abolished. Furniture products will be required to have environmental protection signs.
New standard specifies the terms and definitions, basic requirements, technical content and testing methods on furniture environment labeling. The standard must be applied to all indoor furniture, including wooden furniture, metal furniture, plastic furniture, soft furniture, rattan furniture, glass and stone furniture and other accessories, but not to cabinet products. It is understood that the new version of the standard is more stringent overall, and the adjustment has included a number of ecological requirements. By implementing this standard, home products will be having environmental signs, to mark the products are not only complied with the requirements of the corresponding product quality and safety standards, but also complied with the requirements of environmental protection during production process.
The new standard increases the quality demand for leather and artificial leather raw materials, and strengthens waste recovery and disposal requirements during production. The restriction on harmful substance limit in solvent wood coatings has been adjusted. The restriction on transferable elements and phthalates in products has also been added.

The new standard provides guideline on waste generated during production. Companies are required to perform effective sawdust and dust collection and treatment without disposing directly.
In the process of coating, effective dust collection measurements should be taken, and the exhaust gas should be collected and processed.
In the case of environmental protection requirements for product description, the product description is stipulated to include: quality standards implemented by the product and the test standards on which the products are based; If the furniture or accessories need to be assembled, there should be a graphic assembly description; directions on using different cleaning and maintaining methods on materials; detailed information on materials used in the products and information on recycling and disposal.
